In the short film From the Guidebook, sentences from a contemporary Danish guidebook to the U.S. Virgin Islands have been appropriated and used as subtitles. They are combined with a single shot of a hotel swimming pool on St. Croix, a 25-second fragment of film where the only activity is the light sparkling on the water.
